Cresting The Hill (2023)

For String Trio

Preformed by members of the Kontras Quartet

Imagine the biggest hill in your hometown, now throw the child like

imagination of a 5-year-old into climbing that hill. This piece should feel

like a child stepping out into the world, trying to conquer the universe, one

hill at a time (and honestly the hill seems to be the universe). It gets weird,

scary, and almost disappointing at some points, but making it over the hill

is the only way to know if the world is as big as they say it is. So walk

through the piece with a sense of wonder and awe rather than with a cloud

of modern sadness and try to capture the top of the hill.

The Clouded Grotto (2022)

For Piano Trio

Preformed by members of Picosa

The clouded grotto is a piano trio written to represent the idea of being trapped within an underwater cave, moments of an ominous emptiness mixed into the flowing sea life, to the disturbing and anxious shifts in the tides wondering if you’ll have enough air to survive
